Handwoven Embroidered Woolen Off-White Shawl
Colour – Off-White
About Shawl:
In Bengal, shawls were in fashion since the early 17th century. The most prized woven shawls were figurative and made on the complex Naksha loom. Square shawls with elaborate borders and konia kalka, the corner mango pattern which imitated the Kashmiri shawls, were traditionally woven in black and white for the Bengali aristocracy. There is a mention of a pair of such shawls being woven for Maharaja Bahadur Jatindra Mohan Tagore. Biswa Bangla reintroduces the famous Woolen Shawls that were once the pride of Bengal.
