Dheki Rice
‘Dheki’ is an agricultural tool used for threshing, to separate rice grains from their outer husks, while leaving the bran layer, thus producing Dheki rice. Using a ‘dheki’, women in villages produce ‘Dheki Chhata Chal’, which contains more nutrition than the rice husked in the mills. The intrusion of mills has drastically reduced the use of ‘dheki’. This rice is de-husked using traditional ‘Dheki’, so that all nutritional contents of rice remain restored. As this rice is free from any kind of polishing, it is supremely rich in nutrients, fibre and very low fat.
